Testimony and your home

I just listened to this great talk by President Russell M. Nelson. In it he says that "testimonies are best cultivated in the home"(Opening Message, April 2021 General Conference). It's our job as parents to teach our children about the gospel and teach them of Christ and help them learn how the Atonement can heal them and help them.

How do you do this? Study the gospel in your home. Teach your children the gospel and let them teach you. Make sure they know how much you value the scriptures and the Savior. Answer their questions. Ask them questions and have them give you answers.

Make it your goal the your children lean so much about Christ from you at home that church becomes the supplemental lesson, and not the other way around.

And make sure you and your children bear testimony to each other and to those around you. Very few things in my life have grown my testimony more than when I tell others what I believe. I think this is because when you bear testimony of truth, the Holy Ghost testifies to the person you are speaking with, and to you. So every time you tell others about the gospel you can get that affirmation for yourself.

Goal for this week: Have family scripture study and bear testimony.
